It incorporates transom windows and linear stainless steel light fixtures, both recessed at the base, and a sconce for direct light. Its stained teak door with oversized pull plays with proportion and the sleek white chaise in front invites the homeowner to relax in the sunlight. Teak stepping tiles layed out with the wood grains perpendicular add contrast as they are layed over dark, rich lava rock. Adding a bit of flair to the stark structure is a tapered zinc potter planted with bamboo, horstail and orchids.
